Black dresses will never go out of style and we can find them at almost every major award show. The Billboard Music Awards this year were no different, but the stars who attended this show managed to make themselves known with their black dresses and did a great job of giving them a twist.

Mary J. Blige received the Icon Award and ceremony this year, and she opted for a patterned cut-out sheer gown by Julien Macdonald for the occasion.

Doja Cat shone black and gold at this year’s BBMAs in a complete Schiaparelli look that included a dress with a sculpted black corset, a nude tulle train, gold-toed pumps and a matching planet bag.
