Oksana Trunova hears women tell her these words constantly and she has teamed up with hairstylist Olga Tarasova to give them these makeovers.
Oksana, owner and operator of the salon “Oscars”, shares before-and-after photos on her Instagram account to remind people that any style is possible at any age.
Oksana is well known for her work in the ‘Blind Makeover’ project, which she has been doing for the past 7 years.
The makeup artist said in a previous interview, “After I worked in a beauty salon, women would come up and say ‘just do something,’ but not know what.
Oksana used her observations about women on the street combined with her creativity to inspire new ideas for their business.
The average blind makeover usually consists of a haircut, hair color, make-up, and photos.
Clients can’t see themselves while they’re being made over, and they only get to view their reflection when the work is done. Sometimes this means clients don’t know what’s happening, but we want to make sure that as many people as possible feel beautiful.
It may seem as if women are vain, but time and money is spent on appearance as they risk losing substantial amount of money. When in the work force, if a woman is unattractive she will receive fewer promotions and lower earnings than those who are attractive.
In most studies, attractive people are shown to have a higher income. The research found that it was more likely for someone with a high income and good grooming to be seen as more attractive.
Attractive people tend to earn higher salaries. The study found that most of the difference in salary was due to grooming practices like makeup and hairstyle. For men, this did not make as much of a difference.
Those who are rated as attractive by an interviewer will make 20% more than those who are rated as averagely attractive. Wong and Penner found that other influencing factors-like age, race, class, education-controlled for, good looks can still yield higher wages.
Hopefully some of these women had meetings right before their hair-cutting session.
