If you’re always in the mood to discover new films with ferocious heroines, you’ll be spending a lot of time at the cinema this July. There are a lot of amazing female power movies coming up in the next few weeks, and here are three of them you should put on your watchlist.
WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING
There are no female superheroes or warriors in Delia Owens’ best-selling film adaptation, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the most anticipated women’s films of the summer. It tells the story of a lonely young woman who grew up alone in the swamps of the Deep South and later became a suspect in a shocking murder.
THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
Chris Hemsworth may still be the main character in the new Thor movie, but he’s no longer the only one to wield a hammer. Natalie Portman will appear on board as the Mighty Thor after gaining powers similar to Thor’s after undergoing treatment for cancer.
THE PRINCESS
After years of starring in teen romantic comedies and dramas, Joey King is finally ready to become an action heroine! In her new film on Hulu, she plays the role of a strong-willed princess who must escape captivity and save her kingdom after being kidnapped and locked up because she refused to marry a ruthless and vengeful suitor.
