93-year old Kimiko Nishimoto is a photographer who spent her time creatively taking self-portraits when she retired at age 65. As she hit her late nineties, her creations went viral on the internet.
Nishimoto was not your typical country girl. She had many interests, eventually becoming a hairdresser, licensed professional cyclist, and photographer. In 2001, before she turned 72 years old, Nishimoto began her amateur photography classes to take self-portraits. Nowadays, she finds inspiration for her photos from everyday life.
She said, “I became interested in selfies after I was assigned a homework project to document my life. Photographers have an advantage that I lack, so I wanted to make the pictures more interesting.”
Naho began her Instagram account back in 2018, and she quickly gained over 200,000 followers to date. Her post topics include a variety of subjects ranging from clothing to self-help.
